About Us.

At Schofield Surveyors, we are a team of professionally qualified construction experts providing a wide range of services to private clients, corporate clients and other professional practices such as Architects and engineers. From our offices at Oxford Circus we are able to provide services in London and the rest of the UK. Our extensive knowledge of construction enables us to offer advice across a wide range of matters including: party wall issues; rights of light; dilapidations; boundary disputes and other neighbourly matters such as access and oversail licenses. We also offer bespoke, high end architectural work and contract administration as well as other building surveying services.

The company was formed in 2015 by Andrew Schofield who is one of the country’s leading specialists in party wall matters and boundary disputes. The company has now grown to become one of the most respected players in this field in London and the surrounding area.

Andrew Schofield FRICS

Director

Andrew is a Director of the company. He is well known in the fields of neighbourly matters and dilapidations. He is a past Chairman of the London Branch of the Pyramus & Thisbe Club (a nationwide organisation for those practising and having an interest in the Party Wall etc. Act 1996) and is the current London Branch and National Secretary. He is a regular speaker on matters concerning the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, author of articles and co-author of The Boundaries (Resolution of Disputes) Bill (Draft Legislation).

Jack Norton MRICS

Director

Jack is a Director of Schofield Surveyors Limited. He is a Chartered Building Surveyor who specialises in neighbourly matters and property related disputes. He is a member of the RICS Boundaries and Party Walls Panel Working Groups who drafted the 7th Edition of the RICS Guidance Note on Party Wall Legislation and Procedure and is on the expert working group drafting the 4th Edition of the Guidance Note on Boundaries. He is one of the panel of experts who presented the RICS Roadshows on the updated RICS Guidance Note, Case Law and aspects on Neighbourly Matters.

Jack is a CEDR Accredited and Civil Mediation Council Registered Mediator and CEDR ADR Official. He takes instructions to mediate a wide range of property related disagreements. His experience as a Chartered Surveyor who specialises in neighbourly matters and property related disputes allows him to bring a technical understanding to a mediation.

Stuart Cobbold MRICS

Director

Stuart is a Director at Schofield Surveyors having joined in 2017 from Jones Lang Lasalle. From the commencement of his career at Delva Patman Redler, Stuart has maintained a focus on neighbourly matters including acting for building owners and adjoining owners on party wall matters under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996, providing strategic advice on light as part of planning and environmental impact assessments as well as rights of light issues. Stuart also provides guidance on boundaries, easements and scaffolding/crane oversail licences. In addition Stuart undertakes traditional building surveying work including surveys, dilapidations, contract administration and pathology. Stuart is a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Club and part of their educational committee. Stuart provides advice to the RICS on Party Wall related disciplinary matters.

Stephen Parker MRICS

Director

Stephen is a Director at Schofield Surveyors Limited and is a Chartered Surveyor who specialises is Neighbourly Matters, with a particular focus on Daylight, Sunlight for planning and Rights of Light for common law. He has over 20 years of experience in his field of work, which includes acting as an Expert Witness, representing his clients at committee, planning appeal and complicated rights of light negotiations. Stephen also has well rounded knowledge of the Party Wall etc Act 1996 and has many years’ experience in agreeing Party Wall Awards. His broad experience helps to deliver well thought through advice ensuring his clients have a thorough understanding of the constraints presented to them.

Byron Bassington MRICS RIBA

Director

Byron attended The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. After graduating he worked for Foster + Partners and Gumuchdjian Architects on projects ranging from master planning through to the delivery of luxury bespoke houses.
Since joining the practice he has expanded his skills into the field of building surveying and has become chartered. Not only is his experience in architecture and project management of benefit to developer clients and their project teams, being able to consider matters from the point of view of the design team, he also brings to the process an understanding of other building surveying considerations such as neighbourly matters.

Director and Company Secretary

Linda is a Director and Company Secretary responsible for company compliance and administration. With a background in marketing and new business set-ups, Linda has worked in international transport and logistics, self-storage and office fit outs.
